Autumn mood has taken over

Lately I've been playing around with drawing mushrooms, I thinks it's because I really like the shapes, and the fact that you play a lot with the shapes and colors, and still make them look like a mushroom. And of course since the weather has been very autumnish lately, making the woods smell like mushrooms that's probably a big part too.

This illustration started out as sketches on paper. I took the sketches and scanned them into illustrator and after having made all the shapes I exported the file to my ipad and painted in textures in my favorite app, procreate. After taking Mats A in the spring I went back to illustrator and worked a lot in that program, but lately I've been finding ways to combine illustrator and procreate, simply because I love to paint and draw in that program.

Unicorns and school

At my kids school they pick a name for their class each year, this year my daughter's class is called the

Unicorns. Since I'm In the middle of building a new updated portfolio, I thought it would be a neat idea to do a unicorn piece for my portfolio, and then turn it into a poster for my daughters classroom. So this is what I made today – the Unicorns, and luckily for me, my daughter loved it. The piece is done entirely on my ipad, starting in an vector app, and then moving it into procreate where I added some texture partly by digital painting with some homemade brushes, and partly by adding some of my traditionally created textures from my Dropbox stash.
